Google Rolls Out Click To Chat Ad Extensions

I was running a search for a brand I am researching and chanced upon an adwords ad extension click to chat. Pretty cool. I don't know how useful it is, but definitely cool. It grabs the eye and gives the impression that you are instantly available to help them. I would love to test it, but it seems to be in a private Beta right now.

  1. Hi David,

Have you seen any more of these click to chat Adwords links? Do you recall who the beta chat partner was? I saw something published saying it was live person and another company but can’t find that article now or any other concrete info about the topic. Please let me know if you have any light to shed on the matter. Thx!

  2. I think this would be one of the most valuable types of marketing for people placing ads on google. The number there really does work to draw your gaze and specifically for that search, the people googling would probably be looking for something right away. Whether that’s for themselves or someone else they know, the presence of a phone number without them having to look for it would really motivate them to grab the phone. I imagine this would have a similar effect for a lot of services if they were to use this strategy.

  3. You said it was in private beta, but that was a few months ago. Has anything changed since then? I’m just wondering if you’ve had a chance to play around with it. It seems like it would be a very good addition to an ad on google, so if you ever do get to use it, would you do a post about it and what you thought?
